Venison Stew

Venison stew is a hearty and comforting dish that's perfect for colder weather. Here's a simple recipe to make venison stew:

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add the cubed venison meat in batches and brown on all sides. Remove the browned meat and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Return the browned venison meat to the pot. Add the sliced carrots, cubed potatoes, beef or venison broth, red wine (if using), tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring the stew to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let the stew simmer gently for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the venison is tender and the vegetables are cooked through. If the stew becomes too thick, you can add more broth or water as needed.
  5. Once the stew is cooked to your liking, taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
  6. Serve the venison stew hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy with crusty bread or a side of mashed potatoes for a complete meal.

This venison stew is rich, flavorful, and sure to warm you up on a chilly day. Feel free to customize the recipe with your favorite herbs and spices, and enjoy the delicious flavors of wild game!
